We’ve already told you about the HTC Bliss, which was the codename of HTC’s new “female-focused” handset that’s soon to be out. Well HTC’s started advertising it officially under the moniker of HTC Rhyme, which makes sense because it’s one the first products of HTC’s partnership with Beats.
We’ve barely even become accustomed to the HTC Sensation and now HTC is bringing us the HTC Sensation XE. This dual-core 1.5GHz badboy is basically a slightly upgraded version of the HTC Sensation that focuses predominantly on music by making good use of HTC’s deal with Beats Audio (commonly known as Dr Dre’s Beats among other titles).
The HTC Bliss is an upcoming device by HTC that is supposedly designed to target a predominantly female audience. We’re not entirely sure exactly how HTC expects to go about this, as so far not too much “female friendly” info has cropped up about the device just yet. So far everything we’ve heard just makes the HTC Bliss sound like “a phone” with a few lighter curves.
The HTC Runnymede is a new high-profile smartphone that we’re expecting from HTC in the upcoming months. Hardware-wise it’s not quite up to specs with the dual-core market leaders right now, but it’ll still certainly pack a punch with a single-core 1.5GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM and 8MP camera.
HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang is reported to have told China’s Economic Observer that HTC as a company is considering buying a mobile operating system (OS) of its very own. If true, there are a few interesting possibilities here in HTC’s future. We can certainly see the appeal that HTC might have for making this move. With Nokia siding exclusively with Windows Phone, Google purchasing Motorola Mobility and Samsung rumored to being dropping Windows Phone support in 2013 in favor of pushing its own Bada OS, HTC might be worried about being one of the only top-end manufacturers without its own OS.
HTC recently unveiled its two newest Windows Phone devices: the HTC Titan and HTC Radar. The HTC Titan is set to be the highest-end of the two handsets. With a whopping 4.5 inch screen it’s immediately recognisable when compared to its other Windows Phone cousins, as it sports the largest screen out of any WinPho devices.
The HTC Status (aka the HTC ChaCha outside the US) is one of the new breed of Facebook/Social Media centric phones we’re starting to see crop up around the place. Much like the INQ Cloud Touch, the HTC Status has a user interface (UI) experience based heavily around efficient Facebook navigation. However, unlike during the INQ Cloud Touch review we did a couple of weeks back, we were pleased to discover that HTC managed to not only make an easily navigable interface, but a responsive one as well.
The first 4G LTE enabled smartphone on Verizon’s network, the HTC ThunderBolt, is soon to finally receive the Android Gingerbread update. The news comes as welcome relief to ThunderBolt users across the nation who have been waiting for the update since HTC accidentally leaked the information about a Gingerbread update around 4 months ago.
At first glance the HTC HD7 is an elegant, but not unique looking device. Its 4.3 inch screen has a remarkably thin bezel surrounding it, the speaker and microphone are concealed stylishly between the bezel and frame of the handset and the dark yet shiny edge definitely adds an element of class. However, the effect was diminished when we realized that the framed sticks in to your ear when making a call. This was uncomfortable and only became more annoying with time.
HTC has received a huge boost in sales for the months of May and June over last year, with an over 100% boost in May and an 87.8% boost in June. The rapid growth can be attributed to HTC’s presence in the smartphone market, specifically with its line of Android smartphones.
