HTC recently unveiled its two newest Windows Phone devices: the HTC Titan and HTC Radar.
The HTC Titan is set to be the highest-end of the two handsets. With a whopping 4.5 inch screen it’s immediately recognisable when compared to its other Windows Phone cousins, as it sports the largest screen out of any WinPho devices.
A single-core 1.5 GHz processor is also impressive. It’s no dual-core monster but 1.5GHz is still very powerful for a phone and should handle just about anything you can throw at it. We’re a bit disappointed at the mere 512MB of RAM we’re told it’s going to have, as RAM is extremely important for the smooth and fast operation of a modern handset. We’ve come to expect around 1GB of RAM in our top-end devices these days, so 512MB is definitely falling short of the mark.
An 8MP camera is nice, but also totally expected with today’s market standards, as is the 1.3MP front-facing camera. 16GB of memory is definitely preferable over the equally common amount of just 8, which is what we like to see in our more expensive handsets.
The HTC Radar is aimed at being a lower-end device. A 3.8 inch screen, 1GHz single-core processor and 5MP camera put it squarely in line with the original set of WinPho devices when they were released. 8GB of fixed internal storage is there as well but we’re currently unsure how much RAM we’re looking at here (we expect around 512MB).
Both phones are set to come running Windows Phone Mango and should start seeing shelves sometime around early October. That’s about it for now, but we’ll keep you updated as more news rolls out.
