The HTC Bliss is an upcoming device by HTC that is supposedly designed to target a predominantly female audience. We’re not entirely sure exactly how HTC expects to go about this, as so far not too much “female friendly” info has cropped up about the device just yet. So far everything we’ve heard just makes the HTC Bliss sound like “a phone” with a few lighter curves.
There is mention of something called a “Charm Indicator”, which is apparently some kind of light-up bauble that can be hung out of the side of a handbag in order to alert its owner of an incoming call, should the contents of the bag be muffling the sound.
The folks over at This is my Next managed to get their hands on a spec sheet and, so far, things are looking pretty standard.

It almost sounds like HTC is saying that women like to be left approximately 1 generation behind when it comes to the smartphone race, which we know for a fact isn’t true and don’t believe for a second that HTC is actually be suggesting such a thing. However, when you look at a decidedly average spec sheet like this for a phone that’s receiving such a large amount of special attention it certainly raises a few questions. Especially when placed next to the projected specs of the HTC Runnymede, which is set to see a similar release date. Like with the HTC Runnymede, it's still unclear as to whether or not US customers will ever even see the Bliss, let alone what moniker it will eventually arrive in should it grace American shores.
We’re still scratching our brains trying to figure out just what HTC is going to do to make this phone appeal more to the female market. Will there be any extra software features, a significant change in approach to case design or specialty peripherals available? For now , it seems, we’ll just have to be patient.
