Lenovo isn’t exactly a company that springs to mind when you think of TV, or Smart TV. However, at this year’s CES in Vegas Lenovo entered the TV market with a bang, introducing the world’s first TV running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The TV goes by the moniker of the Lenovo K91 Smart TV and will, oddly enough, be initially available only in China. There will be a wider release later this year, however.
Toshiba’s new Excite X10 tablet is on its way and with it reportedly comes the title of Thinnest and Lightest 10-inch tablet measuring in at just 8mm thick. Hardware-wise the Excite X10 isn’t skimping out. A 1.2GHz dual-core processor accompanied by 1GB of RAM should be enough to keep it in line with most of the competition for now, as will it’s shipping with Honeycomb 3.2. Although there is a chance we could see a release delay in order for Toshiba to upgrade that to Android 4.0.
Motorola has announced its next 2 tablets: the Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition. Both tablets are looking at a mid-November release in the UK and we hope on a similar date in the rest of the world. Both 10.1 inch Motorola Xoom 2 and 8.2 inch Xoom 2 Media Edition seem to sport the kind of specs one would expect from a new Xoom tablet. A super-fast, but not revolutionary dual-core 1.2GHz CPU will be available on both devices, as will 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Both tablets also reportedly sport “HD” displays, which we’re guessing is Motorola’s way of saying Honeycomb’s familiar 1280 x 800 resolution, but it could be higher.
