Boy Genius Report today announced that they had learned some of the specs of the upcoming sequel to the Google Nexus S – The Nexus 4G.
Apparently Google isn’t cutting any corners when it comes to power. The Nexus 4G is rumored to be running either a 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz dual-core processor under its hood. That would make it at least as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S II, if not more.
Obviously LTE is expected to be a feature with a name like “Nexus 4G” and we’d also be pleasantly surprised if there was much of a change to the screen size or resolution, but we’re not counting on it.
1GB of RAM, a 5-8MP camera, 1080p video capture, a front-facing camera (probably around 1-1.3MB) and, of course, Android 2.4 – Ice Cream Sandwich – are all probably safe bets for this puppy as well. Normally we wouldn’t think a device would be released with the newest version of Android so quickly, but that’s the whole point of the Google Nexus line; they’re always the first to be updated when Android upgrades its operating system.
BGR suggests that the device will be made available sometime around American Thanksgiving (November 26th) so we have a while to wait yet to see if our bet is on the ball.
One thing is certain though. If the Nexus 4G is anything like the Nexus S we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes on it as we approach a release date.
