Sony’s Tablet, until recently code-named the S1, has seen broad media coverage across the web due to its unique form factor and PlayStation certification and now it’s finally got itself an official Moniker: The Sony S Tablet.
The Sony S Tablet, which we originally posted about way back in April, sports an a-symmetric centre of gravity, bringing the focus of the device’s weight closer to the hand, rather than the centre of the device. This makes it easier to hold one-handed for longer periods of time, as more weight is focused on the hand over the wrist.
The unique design sparked interest in the online community from the get-go, along with its dual-screened sister tablet, still codenamed the Sony S2 tablet.
The Sony S Tablet is said to come running on Android Honeycomb 3.1 and sport an impressive 1280 x 768 TruBlack LCD panel.
PlayStation certification means access to Android’s PlayStation market, much like with the sparingly popular Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, which should provide users with a nice variety of entertainment. There’s also talk of a 5MP rear camera and a surprisingly 3MP front-facing camera for vide calls. But at this point it’s still difficult to confirm anything but the name.
Whatever the specs for this tablet turn out to be we’re still intrigued and can’t wait to bring you more news as it becomes available.
