LG is expected to announce a new flagship model to its range next month, but has been beaten to the punch with leaked images hitting the web.
Engadget has posted a gallery of pics taken by an anonymous tipster, showing the G2 is all its glory. The handset sports a 5.2-inch 1080p resolution screen, with on-screen navigation keys, rather than navigation below the screen like we saw on the Optimus G.
LG is also pushing its nose out in front in the speed wars, with the G2's quad-core processor clocking in a 2.3GHz, with 2GB RAM in support. Not that LG phones needed to get any faster; the Optimus G is still one of the fastest phones we've had in the WhistleOut labs.
Most interesting though is that LG has moved volume controls for the phone to the back, positioning up and down buttons below the camera lens. It's strange that this is of such interest, but we really cannot remember a phone without volume keys one the side. This could make it easier to control the volume if your phone is in a pocket or bag, but it will be interesting to see whether this also means these buttons are pressed accidentally more often.
LG is expected to unleash the G2 at a press conference in New York on August 7. It will be interesting to see whether the company has any tricks left up its sleeve after this thorough leak.
