It seems like we’ve been covering a lot more Windows Phone and Windows Tablet related news than usual of late and we’re totally fine with that. Times are changing and with the new day is coming a more varied market with Microsoft actually staking its claim as a real competitor in the smartphone and, hopefully, tablet market with its Windows Phone and Windows 8 operating systems.

One of the reasons the Windows 8 tablet OS has us excited is that we’re going to start seeing players that have traditionally stopped clear of making a serious debut in the mobile device market to start throwing their hats in to the ring. Manufacturers like Lenovo, which now hopes to release the world’s first Windows 8 tablet, the very day that Windows 8 launches worldwide.

Some of these so-far untested tablet manufacturers have a long history of making quality laptops and hardware. So we’re hopeful that we’ll not only see some solid products but also some new ideas coming from these until-now outsiders.

Right now we don’t really know anything about this tablet that Lenovo is apparently planning. Of course we expect it to be a very mainstream device, especially if it truly is the first Windows 8 tablet to hit the market. Even if it is we’re anxious to see how these new manufacturers fair up against old standards like Samsung, Apple and HTC. Will they be able to grab a foothold in the tablet market, or have they joined the game too late?
