The popular Windows Phone Mango driven HTC Titan is already set to welcome the newest member to its family: the HTC Titan II. Complete with 4G LTE connectivity and a whopping 16MP camera with f/2.6 AF lens, the HTC Titan II is apparently on its way to AT&T’s fledgling 4G LTE network.
So far that’s just about it for differences between the two devices. The Titan II has essentially the same display as the Titan, both handsets sport a single-core 1.5GHz processor and external design is very similar. The Titan II does seem to have gone with a slightly more “classic” HTC look, but has added a soft-touch coating to the rear plate that should not only improve grip, but also help ward off minor scratches and marking.
Of course the HTC Titan II is still a Windows Phone device, obviously, and as such should be keeping its current fans happy.
One small addition we’d like to note is the improved battery: from 1600mAh to 1730mAh. LTE is a very power hungry service and shots with a 16MP camera are sure to take up a little extra battery strength as well. Basically it’s good to see a bigger battery in the HTC Titan II, but don’t be expecting too much extra battery life out of the newer model. The improvements should be sufficient to counteract the power needs of the upgrades; nothing more.
That’s it for the HTC Titan II for now. We’ll be continuing dropping you that juicy CES news as the day goes on.
