When we hear the word drone our minds immediately turn to governments spying and black-and-white footage of bombs dropping. However, the future could bring drones a lot closer to home.
Domino's are apparently testing the theory that your steamy, melty, pepperoni pizza could fly from the shop to your door, rather than having Vespa scooters weaving in and out of traffic.
Of course, if Domino's gets it right, expect plenty of other things to be delivered by drone. Need to send your phone in for repairs? Your partner locked their house keys inside at home? A court summons, perhaps?
All it will take is one successful drone delivery and the sky will be cluttered with them, the sun blacked out, like a plague of mechanical locusts. And then, they become sentient and start eating the pizza before it arrives. All the drones will live together in a cave shaped like a skull, huddled around a pool of spitting lava…
