Fido Prepaid Customers are charged 75¢ monthly Emergency Access Fee (non-government fee) to provide access to emergency services. This fee is already included in the monthly service price of the plan.
Certain provinces may charge an additional 9-1-1 government fee as follow: $1.88 in Saskatchewan, 46¢ in Québec, 43¢ in Nova Scotia, 97¢ in New Brunswick, 70¢ in Prince Edward Island, 95¢ in Alberta and 75¢ in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Fido Network covers 33 million Canadians from coast to coast. When you travel in Canada on the Fido network, your calls will be considered local or long distance and you will not incur roaming charges.

Currently the Fido network consists of three network technologies GSM, 4G HSPA+ and now LTE. Fido supports all network generation types, meaning that when LTE is not available, Fido will provide the next best network.
Users have the option to purchase a device from Fido or bring in their own phone. Devices must be paid off and unlocked. All GSM phones are compatible with Fido--if your phone has a SIM slot, it will work on Fido.
Customers who want to purchase devices from Fido can pay for them upfront or spread payments over 24 months (subject to credit approval). Fido offers devices from all of these leading manufacturers, including Apple, Google, Motorola, TCL and Samsung.
