Rogers acquired Shaw in April 2023 and discontinued Shaw's internet plans soon afterward. Rogers then rolled out the Ignite Internet packages, affordable internet plans modeled after Shaw's Fibre+ plans.
Shaw customers who were migrated to Rogers might be concerned with now being ignored on a larger provider: J.D. Power's 2019 Canada Internet Service Provider Satisfaction Study ranked Rogers fourth in the East Region for customer satisfaction, with a ranking of 699 points (out of a maximum 1,000 points). This was below the segment average of 721 points. Shaw's customer support teams are still active, however, offering Shaw internet customers help around the clock.
Shaw was an internet service provider, offering fibre internet to Alberta and British Columbia. After Rogers acquired Shaw in April 2023, Shaw's internet plans were discontinued. Rogers then rebranded Shaw as "Shaw Together With Rogers" and pushed cutomers interested in Shaw internet towards its affordable Ignite Internet plans. In our review of Rogers, we found the provider offered a wide-range of plans, fast download speeds, and great options for families, making it a strong option for consumers. Unfortunately, Rogers is not currently available in Alberta or British Columbia, where Shaw internet was based.
