Arguably the hardest task in front of every burgeoning mobile OS is the quest for app support. It was originally one of the major reasons customers expressed discontent with the now prolific Android platform, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform is now going through something similar.
However, with some clever X-Box Live integration, as well as the impressively rapid growth of the Windows Phone platform across the globe, Microsoft can now boast over 40 000 apps before its OS is even 1 year old.
All About Windows Phone has reported that the new contender is adding in the vicinity of 165 apps per day, a figure that is bound to grow exponentially if the experiences of the Android and iOS platforms are anything to go on.
There’s still a long way to go for Windows Phone in terms of app support, but we’re confident that it shouldn’t take too long. Since the 'Mango' Update WinPho users have been expressing more and more how much they love their Windows Phone devices. In just one year Microsoft’s OS has come a long way and we can’t wait to see if it can keep it up in 2012.
