Two major iPhone 4 vendors have been discovered to have the white iPhone 4 in their inventory systems.
Originally the rumour, with only a couple of questionable screenshots to back it up, was based on a “weiß” (white) iPhone 4 showing up in Vodafone Germany’s intranet. However, no release date was given to lend credence to the story.
More recently Best Buy, a leading vendor of phones in the US, has followed the trend displaying not only the long awaited alabaster handset but also an “in-stock” date of February 27. Have the prayers of countless iPhone enthusiasts finally been answered by Apple?
Only time will tell. Tech websites such as Engadget, Technobuffalo and Slizlopedia have been chasing the White iPhone 4 dragon for months (Technobuffalo even getting a hands-on with a prototype late last year) now with almost every rumour leading to yet another postponement and inevitable disappointment.
However, for once would-be consumers have at least a solid date on which to place all their hopes. Come Feb 27th American white iPhone 4 fans will know for certain if these rumours are the real deal, or just more internet gossip about a relatively simple device that Apple seems incapable of delivering.
