  • Rogers' 5G video service earned top honors in an international study conducted by OpenSignal.
  • The carrier's service finished in a statistical tie with 10 other international carriers, earning a score designated at the top end of the "Very Good" distinction.
  • The only other Canadian carrier to crack the top 20 was Telus.

OpenSignal, the international mobile network analytics company, ranked Rogers’ 5G video service among the best in the world in its 2024 5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards. Rogers’ service, which scored 77.7 out of 100, finished in a statistical tie with 10 other carriers in the large land mass category.

OpenSignal designated services within the 68-78 range as “Very Good,” which means users can stream video at 1080p or better with minimal buffering or lag while on the carrier’s 5G. Rogers’ score of 77.7 means that OpenSignal found the carrier’s service reliably smooth on average.

The only other Canadian carrier to finish in the top 20 was Telus, whose 5G video experience earned a 76.4. Bell did not finish in the top 20 for 5G Video Experience, though it did finish fifth for 5G Voice App Experience.

Rogers was named the most reliable wireless network in Canada in a 2023 report from umlaut. The OpenSignal award seems to prove that further. Despite the fact that its network is smaller than both Bell's and Telus', the carrier continues to be rated highly for its service.
