Public Mobile Follows Black Friday with $10 off all $30+ Plans

Some of the best deals on cell phone plans are over now that Black Friday is behind us for another year, but Public Mobile is keeping the spirit alive by adding a $10 incentive to all $30+ plans when you sign up online. The deal applies to 30-day and 90-day plans.

The promotion credits qualifying plans by $10 for the first six months, and can be be used in the next pay-period. Once you've paid the first month, your account will be credited and can use that credit for the next month.

Customers who subscribe to 90-day plans will find a $10 credit added to their account every 30 days and can be used to save up to $30 on their next pay period. Offer ends December 2, 2018.

Public Mobile made waves when they launched as one of a number of discount independent MVNO's in 2010. Telus acquired them in 2013 and now offer cheap talk and text plans, as well as some of the largest data plans for the lowest prices in Canada.

What Plans Qualify?

All plans of at least $30 for 30-days qualify. This doesn't include their $10/month or $25/month Talk and Text plans, but most other plans that include 3G or LTE data do qualify.

What is 3G and LTE Data?

All plans on Public Mobile run using the Telus national wireless LTE network. It is the largest and most reliable cell phone network in Canada.

Data speeds on most plans are "3G quality", which means they top out at 3Mbps downloads. That's still fast enough for streaming music and browsing social networks like Instagram without any slow loads, but watching videos on YouTube or Netflix might run at a lower quality. Public Mobile also offers high-speed LTE options; their $30 for 30-days data-only plan with 1GB of LTE data works out to only $20/month for six months after your first payment.
