Amongst the bevy of retina screen/to-the-edge displays/super battery/keyboard/even more outlandish iPad rumors from last season one in particular seemed to be the most wide-spread: the iPad Mini.
We thought the rumor had died, due to no other evidence than it inexplicably disappearing from tech blogs and geek forums alike.
However, it’s recently seen a resurgence on a short post by DigiTimes.
Apple is likely to launch a 7.85-inch iPad prior to the fourth quarter of 2012 in addition to a new iPad scheduled to be released at the end of the first quarter, according to sources in the supply chain.

It wouldn’t be nonsensical for Apple to make a move like this, considering that it currently can’t provide for customers looking for smaller, more portable tablets. However, with such an overwhelming share of the market Apple mightn’t see it as worth the bother.
Once again with Apple rumors it’s always impossible to separate fact from fiction until the actual announcement. But you can be sure that we’re going to be keeping the rumor mill open with Apple juicies until the gossip can be finally put to rest.
