It seems that ‘prominent' businessman and pop culture joke Donald Trump also happens to be an expert in consumer technology.

Trump and his questionable hairpiece took to Twitter earlier this week to inform Apple – you know, the hugely successful tech company that probably doesn’t need business advice from a man whose career history includes multiple bankruptcies – just what it’s been doing wrong lately.

According to Trump, Apple “…must go to a larger screen now--asap! [sic] They’re losing their standing in the market!”

It’s not the first bit of unsolicited advice Trump has given the company, nor is it the first time he’s demanded a bigger display for the iPhone. The same request was made in April, when Trump revealed that he has ‘a lot’ of Apple stock, misses Steve Jobs, and believes Tim Cook needs to immediately increase the iPhone’s screen.

Trump’s Facebook and Twitter post continued with: “It should be slightly larger than the Samsung screen – and they better get it right fast because they will lose a lot of business. I like the larger screen.”

In July, Trump tweeted that his recommendation might finally have been taken on board by Apple. “Apple is finally considering a large screen for the I-Phone [sic] – they better get moving fast. When I told them to do this last year, they scoffed.”

Regardless of your personal opinion of Trump’s expertise in smartphone design, the businessman is echoing a sentiment that’s been shared by industry commentators, as rival companies (especially the aforementioned Samsung) continue to release devices with large displays.

If you believe the rumors, Apple is already testing prototypes with screen sizes as large as six inches, and next year’s iPhone 6 is expected to feature a bigger-and-better display than ever before.

It remains to be seen whether Trump will take credit for a screen upsize if the whispers pan out – but we’re predicting this won’t be the last time Apple will be patronized by the man’s self-congratulatory Twitter feed.
