Apple has apparently begun work on some iPhone 5 ads out in Los Angeles, says one Apple Insider source. This news, although unconfirmed at this stage, ties up well with a BGR report from a few days ago that claimed an AT&T VP had begun informing managers to start putting more staff on in the next 35-50 days and that the iPhone 5 could be expected in early October.
The ad campaign is apparently set to finish shooting in the first week of October, which might suggest a slightly later, mid-October release for the much-awaited handset.
As is standard when dealing with Apple news all information at this point is sketchy at best, but at least now our iPhone 5 rumours are beginning to consist of more than “my cousin’s boyfriend’s sister told me her friend said…” etc.
This news definitely has us excited and we can’t wait to hear more iPhone 5 news roll out in the coming months.
We’d like to know if any of our readers have been holding out for the next iPhone and, if so, for how long? A tonne of iPhone 3GS owners would have finished their 2 year contracts in the last few months and more than a few of them have been tempted over to other platforms, such as Android or Windows Phone, instead of facing the long and indefinite wait for a new iPhone. Have you made the switch, or are you still waiting on that next Apple iPhone?
