The best deal on a TekSavvy internet plan is Cable 1024 Unlimited which delivers 1Gbps download speeds, 30Mbps upload speeds, and unlimited usage. Our experts choose it because it’s widely available to many Canadians and it’s cheaper than similar plans from the traditional cable internet providers (like Rogers). Quite simply, the best value deal will be the one with the fastest download speeds—the speediest TekSavvy plans are only a little more expensive than the next fastest option. However, if you think gigabit internet is far more speed than you need (you’re probably right), save money by dropping down to the Cable 500 Unlimited or Cable 300 Unlimited plans. These plans save you about $10 monthly per tier and are still fast enough for many households.

The fastest plan TekSavvy offers is the Fibre 3 Gig Unlimited plan, available exclusively in southwestern Ontario. Like the Cable 1024 Unlimited plan, customers can download at gigabit speeds without worrying about data overage charges. TekSavvy’s self-built fibre optic solution adds a higher upload speed limit—750Mbps—and a lower price tag.
If you’re lucky enough to live in the Chatham-Kent area where the company is based, you may have access to one of Canada's cheapest gigabit fibre optic plans.

Teksavvy’s fibre-optic network

TekSavvy’s cheapest internet plan is DSL 6 Pro which lets you download at 6Mbps. This basic internet access plan is a good solution for browsing, emailing, and streaming music. Unfortunately, the upload speed with this plan is very slow (0.8Mbps). You’ll need something faster if you use video calling services like Skype, Apple FaceTime, or Zoom.
The DSL 6 Pro plan is also one of the few TekSavvy options with a data cap, but 400GB per month is good enough for most light internet users. Premium streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, or Crave should work but you can expect poor video quality. If you stream TV and movies a lot over a month, you should know that TekSavvy charges additional fees if you go over the 400GB cap.
