British Columbia Internet Provider FAQs

FAQs
Telus is British Columbia’s best internet service provider. The advantages you get from a fibre network, including the fastest download and upload speeds in the country, are excellent reasons to opt for Telus as your ISP.
British Columbia's fastest internet includes plans from Telus and Shaw. You can pick up a seriously fast 2.5Gbps download and upload plan from Telus if you live in Vancouver. Telus and Shaw offer 1.5Gbps plans, though Telus’ fibre network has advantages over Shaw’s fibre network. TekSavvy, VMedia, and Eastlink also have plans with gigabit options.
Most internet plans in British Columbia will range from around $30/month to over $100/month. We think plans ranging from $60–$85/month land in the sweet spot for most homes. You can find plans offering 100Mbps in this price range, which is great for streaming and connecting ten devices with ease.
British Columbia internet deals often come as limited-time discounts, so we recommend signing up when you see one. We also suggest adding a calendar notification for when your plan resets to its default price, so you don’t have a bill scare. You can also search and compare internet plans using the WhistleOut search tool.
While signing up for an internet plan that includes gigabit speeds can be tempting, most homes only need around 100–150Mbps. If you’re an avid gamer, streamer, or have a bunch of devices to connect, then you’ll want to look into a plan with a higher speed. The minimum speeds that we recommend are 50Mbps download and 10Mbps upload.
