If you’re addicted to your smartphone, you’ve probably grappled with the problem of not having enough battery life to get you through an average day of texting, Web surfing and staying on top of social media. Now, a new Australian company may have resolved the issue, by designing a range of crowd-funded bags and wallets that double as on-the-go phone chargers.
Hustle bags promise to charge your smartphone on the go, with the ability to recharge your phone up to four times from zero to complete battery capacity.
The Hustle project is currently seeking funding on Indiegogo, with a goal of $75,000. Hustle's developers are hopeful to reach their target amount by August 11 and be on track to begin shipping to backers and customers in September.
The husband-and-wife team behind the company are also offering free shipping to all Australian contributors, as well as various 'perks' depending on the amount pledged.
How does it work?
The bags and wallets feature an ultra-thin power pack incorporated into the bag itself. Connect your phone via the included micro USB connection (or the snap on iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5 connectors) to recharge your device without connecting to a power outlet.
The Hustle power pack uses lithium-polymer power to recharge your phone, with 4250mAh of power in a slim 9mm package. If you're concerned about portability, the power packs weigh only 200g and the products themselves look like ordinary, albeit stylish, wallets and bags.
The bags can be recharged on the included Hustle charge pad via wireless induction charging technology. The charge pad is also compatible with any QI integrated device (phones that can be charged wirelessly) and includes USB ports and iPhone connectors, so it can be used to power up virtually any smartphone, as well as just recharging the Hustle bag itself.
What's available?
Bags themselves are fashioned from quality leathers and are classically designed, presenting an aesthetic Hustle describes as ‘fusing the gap between fashion and cutting-edge technology.’
The range includes a premium leather Hustle bag which can be worn as a handbag or clutch; a smaller faux leather clutch with a matching wristlet strap; and a leather full-size men’s wallet, which can be converted to a smaller sized wallet by popping out the middle section.
