There are already some pretty solid savings to be made on tablets in the week leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Some tablets are on short-term sales, while others like the original Surface tabs have just dropped in price thanks to newer versions. Even though it’s not yet the big day, it may be wise to get in quick in case some of these models sell out.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, 10.1-inch
The Galaxy Tab 3 is Samsung’s current mid-range tablet. It’s a solid device with passable specs and, while it may not sport a fancy S-Pen accessory like the Note series, it should definitely get the job done. It’s also on sale from just about everywhere right now.
You can save $100 on the the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 16GB and grab it for just $299, from:
It might be a bit of an older tablet, but it’s recent and powerful enough to be worth your attention at $299. Especially considering its large 10.1 inch screen.
Microsoft Surface tablets
Microsoft has recently unveiled its Surface 2 tablets, so it’s no surprise that the original Surface RT and Surface Pro are going for cheap. You can grab them from Best Buy and Walmart
It’s worth noting that the discounted prices probably represent what these older Surface tabs will be permanently priced at going forwards, now that they’ve been superseded by newer models. That doesn’t mean they won’t move quickly thanks to the drop in price.
Surface RT
The new price of the original Surface RT 32GB is settling at $349, down from $499.
But what is a Surface tablet without a Touch Cover? Right now at Walmart, you can grab the once-pricy multi-purpose cover for an extra $50, so long as you purchase it with the tablet.
Surface Pro
Both models of the Surface Pro have dropped down $100.
- Surface Pro 64GB: $799 from $899
- Surface Pro 128GB: $899 down from $999.
Nokia Lumia 2520 on Verizon
For a limited time, Nokia’s first Windows tablet – the Nokia Lumia 2520 – is available on Verizon with a $100 discount, so long as you grab it with a 2-year contract. At $399 it’s an intriguing prospect; it’s only $50 more than the now-outdated Surface RT 32GB. Be that as it may, $100 off the usual full tablet price isn’t a huge saving when you’re talking about carrier subsidies on a 24 month contract.
You can grab it off-contract from Verizon for $499. This is the standard price-tag, but even so it might be a better option. We realise this is hardly a sale price, but a powerful Windows RT 8.1 tablet for under $500 is definitely worth a look at.
