The 2024 Olympic Games officially start in Paris on Friday, July 26, but you don't have to fly to Europe to watch every event. All of the summer games—every sport, exclusive commentary, and the closing and opening ceremonies—are available in Canada. While viewers in other countries will need cable, a subscription, or IPTV to catch their favorite athletes, you can stream the summer games in Canada for free.

Even if you're technologically challenged, watching the Olympics for free in Canada is easy. Here's how.

Stream the Paris Olympics for free in Canada

The Paris Olympics run from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11. You can stream the games in Canada through the following apps and websites:

  • CBC Gem (for free)
  • TSN+ (additional coverage)

Stream the Olympics for free on CBC Gem

CBC Gem, CBC's streaming service, allows you to stream all of the Paris Olympics for free. Basic accounts are free and include advertisements. Premium accounts, which cost $5.99/month, are ad-free.

You can stream the games on the CBC Gem website or through the CBC Gem app, which is free for iOS and Android devices. (And if you've got an unlimited data plan, it will be a cinch to do on your phone.) It's also available for Fire TV, Roku, Xbox, and more.

CBC Gem is only available for Canadian households. Theoretically, though, households outside the country could access CBC Gem's Olympics coverage through a VPN. But, again, that's purely hypothetical...

Stream the Olympics on TSN+

CBC Gem will feature comprehensive coverage of the summer games, with over 3,000 hours of coverage on every event. If that's not enough for your obsessive heart, even more coverage will be available on TSN+, the premium streaming service from TSN.

TSN+, which costs $8/month, is available on iOS and Android.
