Text Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ Plans, Promos and Deals over images of the new Samsung Galaxy Note10

Article Summary

A few months after releasing four models of their flagship Galaxy S10 devices, Samsung announced the two more premium large-format Android devices; the Galaxy Note10 is available at Samsung storefronts and Best Buy only, while the Galaxy Note10+ is available through mobile carriers. Updated August 23, 2019: The Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are now available to buy.

Armed with one of the largest, most beautiful and responsive displays in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Note10 isn't just a bigger and faster phone. Camera, AI and power optimizations give you a full day of professional-quality content creation. From taking notes in your own handwriting to recording professional video without any shaking and real-time effects like bokeh video, the Galaxy Note10 appears to do it all.

This year the Note model is available in two sizes; the 6.3" display of the Galaxy Note10 has FullHD+ resolution but can only be found at Best Buy and Samsung storefronts. The larger 6.7" QuadHD+ screen of the Galaxy Note10+ also includes a fourth camera for depth sensing, a larger battery, and expandable storage by microSD (that's been excluded from the smaller Note10).

Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ Hardware Specs

With two model variations including a plus-sized screen, fans of Samsung's premium Note line have more choice than ever before.

Overview of specs in common between Note10 and Note10+

S Pen: Of course, the patented stylus is what the Galaxy Note lineup is famous for. The S Pen offers handwriting-to-text conversion as well as more accurate onscreen taps. Considering how much you can get done on this screen including video editing, having that level of accuracy makes the Galaxy Note10 line a far more professional device than its competition.

Display: Both models feature huge screens with almost no bezel, strong Gorilla Glass on both the front and back, and dynamic AMOLED display with in-screen fingerprint scanner. The "holepunch" camera first seen in the Galaxy S10 line of smartphones is back, but placed in the top-center of the display. I kind of prefer it there, as it still allows space for notifications to align on the left and right of the top bar. Both devices have about 91% coverage by the display and feature 19:9 aspect ratios. Both models are available in Aura Glow and Aura Black, but an Aura White Note10+ can be found exclusively as a Samsung Store exclusive.

Cameras: The Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ both have exceptional 10 megapixel (MP) selfie cameras. They both have three industry-leading rear cameras to cover regular (12MP), telephoto (12MP) and ultrawide (16MP) shots, although the Galaxy Note10+ has a fourth camera to help with 3D depth sensing.

CPU and Sound: The processor is the same Snapdragon 855 you'll find in the Galaxy S10 flagship devices, which is fine. There's really no better smartphone CPU out there right now. The built-in speakers are tweaked by AKG for excellent sound reproduction, and Dolby Atmos is also built into the system. Samsung opted to remove the headphone jack with this generation.

Connectivity: The newest WiFi 6 is supported and Bluetooth 5.0 is in here too. There's a USB 3.1 Type-C port at the bottom and wireless Qi charging both into the device, and out to accessories like the new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. The newest 4G LTE bands are supported for up to 2.0 Gbps transfers, but eSIM is still not supported. You'll still need a nanoSIM chip to connect to your favourite carrier. 5G models of both the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ will be hitting the market, but since Canadian carriers don't have support for 5G networks until at least 2020 we won't be seeing them in stores anytime soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note10 Specs

If you can stretch your dollar to buy the Note10, here's what you'll get.

A 6.3" AMOLED display covers nearly every square millimeter of the front with 1080x2280 pixels. The only Galaxy Note10 model offered features 8GB of RAM and a 3,500 mAh battery. Fast Charging is supported up to 25W. There's a full 256GB of storage but Samsung chose to eliminate the microSD slot in order to save space for the battery. There are no storage expansion options built into this phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note10+ Specs

If you're looking for the best-of-the-best, or you're simply planning to buy through a carrier plan, then you'll want to know what makes the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ unique.

First thing you'll notice is a monsterous 6.8" dynamic AMOLED display pushing QuadHD+ (1440x2960 pixels) to your eyes. That's larger than than the Galaxy S10+ and even bigger than the 5G variant of Galaxy S10 we didn't get in Canada. With all that extra brightness it still sits in your hand with nearly the same case dimensions as the Galaxy Note9 that featured only a 6.4" display.

The extra space on the Galaxy Note10+ also afforded Samsung the option to keep the microSD slot on this model. In fact, you have the choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage before adding up to 1TB of storage by external card. That extra space also contributes to a huge 4,300 mAh battery that can be charged faster than ever before with support for 45W charging.

There's a gratuitous 12GB of RAM, but it kind of makes sense with all the unique camera features boasted by the Note10 line. There's an additional VGA camera on the back to help with 3D depth sensing to help with some of the amazing features like real-time bokeh effects on video recording.

The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ can apply colour-pop or bokeh (artificially blurring the background) to apply Instagram effects to videos recorded in real-time, making your content look more professional
